Climate crisis

http://www.ted.com/talks/al_gore_s_new_thinking_on_the_climate_crisis.html

Al Gore uses urgent vocabulary that grasps the audiences’ attention. He informs the audience of the negative role we play that is killing our environment and gives solutions to fix this crisis. I found myself at first not caring about this argument and trying to finish up this assignment, but after listening to the whole speech I became engaged. Gore made some persuasive arguments that were accurate and logical. One example was the continent Antarctica. Researchers have found that there has been a rapid decrease in the amount of snow covering the continent due to the increase of high temperature caused by pollution. Another argument he stated that is logical is the fact that our government has not made this problem as serious as it is. I agree with his argument because he uses visuals that show us how we are effecting our world around us.
Gore does acknowledge the challenges that confront President Obama and recognizes the climate-friendly efforts Obama has made, such as the improvements in fuel-efficiency standards for automobiles and for instructing EPA to “move forward on the regulation of global-warming pollution under the Clean Air Act”. But despite this Gore says Obama has failed to present “bold action on climate change” and that Obama has only “slightly” moved the country forward on the climate issue .
